Up and At Them!
"Run Yoga Man!" I just wanted to shout that today, walking to work I pass a yoga studio. I guy who im guessing was very late for his class was runing at full prance with his yoga matts tucked under his arm. Just one of those REALY funny moments. What kind of powers would Yoga Man have?
I love my job, I get to create cool images for cool films and get paid.

Film
Sir Michael Caine Kicks ass, he just does. If you think Im talking about Cider house rules MC, well then you need to go watch the Origional "The Italian Job" (1969) This movie just rocks, I miss a good crime caper, one that is just fun. Ok I am biased as the movie has 3 very sweet mini's driving thru Turin's sidewalks and sewers. The music also adds just this sence of coolness, I love "The Self Preservation Society" just a fun loud song, very late 60's rock/pop kind of tune with a bit of drinking song and fight song mixed in.
In closeing, You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!!!!!

MR2 and The Clutch
We rented an MR-2 Spyder for my girlfriends birthday this weekend. There is nothing like driving aroun SoCal with the top down. Next time we need to use sunblock as we both got burnt forheads. She has loved the MR2's since the first one came out, she loves the convertable even more. I have no dout that she will be getting one soon. I have no clue how she is going to get all her chef stuff in the car, but im guessing the answer will be I will not be in there :).
The other thing about the MR-2 we rented was that it had a manual transmission. Yes, you can rent manuals, but they are usualy only on exotics or 'fun fleet' cars Such as the aformentioned MR-2, 350Z, MINI Cooper S, Porsche 911 Carrera S, ect... And that is where this gets intresting. I didn't know how to drive a manual. I grew up driving automatics, which now that Im into cars is embarsing. When Im with my car at shows and meets I always get "Great looking car, Is it an S?" Then I have to explain that the S only comes in 6 speed and I am lame. I usualy just talk about my sometimes bad commute. I can't even use that excuse anymore as now I'm back at DD and live 10 min from work. So back on track here (well as much of a track as I ever have) Since we had another very nice and fast car for the weekend I had to drive it. That brings up, The Cluch! Yes is the extra peddle that us automatic guys always wondered what it did. And let me say this, Trying to learn to drive stick can be fun if you just dont get fustrated and get used to the constant laffter from the seat next to you. I found trying to ballance the clutch and gas for the first time very much like trying to make a woman O. You need the right amout of pressure here, the right amount there, then move a bit to the left, then move the stick, then let up with one foot, then press with the other..... If you do it right you are rewarded with a nice growl and forward motion, if not you get kicked around and you jerk back. So since the car wasn't ours I we didn't care how often we stalled it. but after about 2 hours in the Target parking lot I had the whole concept down ok. We did some traffic driving and it went fine. Stalled a few times at lights, got honked at. Drove over a low cemet block thing at the Fry's parking lot (while trying to park). Now my FG had not driven stick, I mean a manual transmission in about 2 years and she never had a manual car but she had done it a few times. In the 2 days we had the car, she went from doing ok with it to down right kicking ass. Now granted she dose not drive like I do (60mph 90 deg turns, 1.5+G load ect...) but she dose drive this car more sporty, but due to the clutch she is more pensive about other cars and she pays more attention. I felt safer in the car with her this time then previous times, wierd huh? Having said that I need to point out the complete lack of attention I give to any other car on the road except the one right in front of me im about to pass. Having said all that, I think it will be kick ass having the convertable around, and not having to drive and just stareing at the clouds with you hair in the wind will become my new favorite hobby.
