Intresting thought
On the way down the stairs I was looking at the 4" wide metal railing as I taped my silver ring against it. The idea came to be that it would be facinating if there where some kind of linear induction Magnet system that when your ring hit the railing it would pull you down the stairs at an amazing speed. Just yank you off your feet and ZOOM. We have two 90 deg bends in the stairs, that would be a great whip around effect. The landing would be the hard part. No good idea how to deal with that, the usual padded area at the bottom would work, maby some kind of big fan that would equlize the force on you and slow you down enough to stand back up. Just think of the stupid stuff you could do with one of these. Fling people over walls, fun times at water parks, shoot you up and into some kind of wave pool. It would make a hell of a rollercoaster. They could fit each person with a glove, the glove locks to the track and yanks you along. Im sure dislocated elbows and sholders would happen a lot, some kind of haness system or gradual acceleration combined with min physical requirements to do the ride. Would be a cool animation and or shot.
BTW, if you haven't seen the new MATRIX trailer yet whats wrong with you? its been out for like 7 hours now.
Nice Wired Article on the movie

24, DVRs, and Bread
Life is wierd, no two ways about it. Now that we have a nice begining on to the real stuff. 24 is a great show, it's basicly to late to start watching now, you will only be confused. Get the DVD's or watch for a 24 hours or 24 on FX after season two is done. That's where the DVR comes in, I have a ReplayTV. Well I have 2 of them, my Dad has 1 and my next door neibors have 1. SonicBlue (the people who bought ReplayTV) just went chap. 11. They where suposed to sell of the Replay Unit to Denon & Maritz but that fell thru. So this is where the topics come together. I am never home, I work for a Big VFX house, I work long and odd hours. I need a dvr just to chatch any show I want to see. I will be realy pissed if the replay service stops working. And don't say TIVO, they got nothing on replay. Replay can skip the commercials automaticly, its files can be copied right off the drive across my lan and burned right to DVD as mpg2. Thats just cool Now the Bread, my Girlfriend is a student at a big cullanry school, she is a Chef in training. She has been brining home the most amazing breads. DAM they are good. I type this as I eat focaccia. Anyway thats all for now, they are about to install an AC duct over my head and I have to move.
